Message from Director

Dear friends of music,
welcome, and thank you for being here.

My name is Sean Wang
and it is truly my pleasure to introduce to you an international music festival that I personally value and deeply believe in — the Vancouver Resonance Festival.

For many young musicians, the journey of studying music is long and demanding. Daily practice, countless rehearsals, and repeated performances

all quietly lead to one essential question:

Why do we make music?

VRF is a place where many young musicians begin to discover their answer.

Held in Vancouver, Canada,VRF takes place in a city known for its natural beauty, cultural diversity, and strong commitment to arts and education. Each year, choirs, bands, orchestras, conductors, and students from around the world gather here to meet one another through music.

At VRF,
you are not simply here to compete or to complete a single performance.

You will perform on truly professional stages,
in excellent acoustic environments, and just as importantly,
you will connect with fellow musicians from different countries and cultural backgrounds.

For students,
this is an opportunity to learn how to express themselves in an international setting.

For parents,
it is a meaningful journey to witness their children grow, mature, and gain a broader perspective through music.

VRF places great importance on musical excellence,
but it equally values the human connections that music makes possible.

We believe that a truly meaningful music festival
is not defined only by scores or awards,
but by what students learn along the way —
how to listen,
how to collaborate,
and how to understand their own place
on their musical path.

For many participants,
VRF is their first time performing on a North American stage,
their first experience
in a truly international artistic environment,
and their first opportunity
to introduce themselves to the world through music.

Experiences like these
often become turning points — moments that stay with them for a lifetime.

I warmly invite students, teachers, and parents
from around the world
to make the Vancouver Resonance Festival
a part of your musical journey.

Here in Vancouver,

let music resonate,
and let that resonance carry you forward,
wherever your path may lead.

Thank you very much.
I look forward to welcoming you to Vancouver.
